Paul Beckner


Paul Beckner has built a career on managing complexity, solving problems, and working with wealthy families to meet their goals. During his years as chief executive of one of the largest public policy organizations in the United States, Mr. Beckner earned a reputation for integrity, accomplishment, sound judgment, and managerial acumen. In building a public policy organization into a national powerhouse, Mr. Beckner was sought out to address some of the nation’s most difficult political and policy problems by some of our country’s top leaders: Fortune 50 CEOs, Forbes 400 families, Congressional leaders, and top White House staff.

Mr. Beckner has experience in all aspects of leadership, management, and entrepreneurship in both non-profit and for-profit settings. He has launched successful organizations, led existing ones to quantum leaps in size and effectiveness, and reengineered faltering ones. He has managed high-stakes litigation, led teams solving complex legal, organizational, and financial issues, and built world-class management teams. Mr. Beckner has two decades of experience working with high net worth families to meet their charitable and policy goals.

Prior to joining Sterling, Mr. Beckner’s career took him from the food business to publishing to the non-profit world.

Mr. Beckner earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a B.A. in history from Northwestern University. He has served on the board of CSE and currently serves on the board of FAMM. Mr. Beckner also serves on the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations in the Office of the United States Trade Representative.
